With COVID-19 pandemic threatening the world, CCDI advances its educational system by introducing blended learning both to college and senior high school levels.

Sorsogon province was subjected to Enhanced Community Quarantine last March 16, 2020 disallowing all students to report to their classes physically, and was strictly ordered to stay home.

By May 1, ECQ was lifted and the province was put to General Community Quarantine allowing certain mobility but schools are still disallowed for classroom activities. Schools were allowed to finish their semester yet limiting the activities to skeletal and office operations. Academics are still being handled online and modular.

New to this norm, CCDI explored and adapted various modalities of instructions.  Teachers used different learning management applications like Google classrooms, Edmodo and Moodle  to continue the instructions. Those who are incapable of online classrooms but at least with internet connection were served lessons using social media platforms like Facebook and Messenger to  reach out learners. Students from far-flung areas who do not have internet lines were texted and reached through their mobile phones. Those who are still incapable of remote communication are sent with modules in their houses to comply the remaining requirements for the second semester.

Survey to students and faculty were administered to help school management develop new educational system adapting the new normal of education.

The school is preparing for an improved system of delivery of senior high school and higher education. The management hereby orders the academic office and I.T. department undergo series of studies and training for online and blended Education.

Various operations of the school are now digitized from student registration, finance and academic operations.

Effective first semester. S/Y 2020-2021, CCDI will introduce blended learning allowing the students to attend classes three ways  (1) online-synchronous, (2) online-asynchronous, and/or (3) modular.

CCDI in its policy and guidelines, consider CHED, DepEd and TESDA in developing internal policies addressing this concern.

In the main time that COVID remains threat to us, CCDI will educate Sorsoganons using these platforms.
