Hayagan, the world’s three times international winner in I.T

Representing the Philippines, JOVEN HAYAGAN, Cum Laude graduate of Computer Communication Development Institute, Sorsogon campus has brought so much pride to the country, and to the entire Bicol Region for reaping medals in three different international skills competition in information technology.

Hayagan won Medallion of Excellence at the World Skills Abu Dhabi 2017 recently despite not having participated in the World Skills Competition for 14 years.

In the World Skills Competition, the Philippines was represented by CCDI’s Joven Hayagan for the IT Software Solution for Business category and Jalanie Dimacaling in the field of Web Design Development, in which both won Medallion of Excellence.

The two competitors were ranked  No. 7 (Hayagan)  and No. 15 ( Dimacaling) for the Average Medal Points in the competition which was  participated in by 57 nations in the World Skills Abu Dhabi 2017.

The World Skills Competition is held every two years. TESDA is the lead agency which selects participants in the World Skills Competition.

This year, Korea led in the Average Point Score. It was followed by China, Switzerland, France, Chinese Taipei; South Tyrol, Italy; and the Philippines.

Prior to the selection of Hayagan as the country’s representative to the World Skills Abu Dhabi 2017, he has already given honor to the country when he won other two international competition.

Joven H. Hayagan, an IT Graduate of Computer Communication Development Institute, has triumphed his way up to the international scene as he bagged the gold medal in IT Software Solutions in the recently concluded 1st China International Skills Competition (CISC) 2017 last June 5-9 held in Suzhou and Shanghai.

gold at the 1^st China International Skills Competition 2017 (CISC2017), silver medalist at the 11^th ASIAN Skills Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2016.

Hayagan also received gold medals during the Philippine National Skills Competition and Bicol Regional Skills Competition. He became champion in the province-wide Computer Programming Challenge.

Aside from winning the CISC 2017, Hayagan was also a silver medalist in the 11th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Skills Competition (ASC) held last September 19-29 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and a gold medallist in Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC) held at TESDA Center, Manila City last June 21 to 24, 2016.

The yearly skills competition is one of the endeavors of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in providing an avenue for tech-voc graduates and trainees to showcase their skills in various trade areas as it continues to uplift the level of vocational education in the country.
