With the theme: “Unleashing the Powers Within!”, Computer Communication Development Institute (CCDI) commemorated its 21st Foundation Anniversary through a week-long festivity last February 12 to 17, 2018. Spearheaded by Mr. Edgar C. Ballasta, CCDI School Administrator, the opening program was held last February 12 at Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium.
It started off with a parade of the students wearing the uniforms of their respective teams which include Team Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Service, and Loyalty. The parade was led by the two Drum and Lyre Core guests from the schools of Estenias College Foundation School, and Villanueva Gabao Institute.
“We aim for quality education, and unleashing the power of the school can be one of the strategies.”, said Dr. Nhymfa Guemo, the Department of Education (DepEd) School Superintendent and the event’s Guest Speaker, during her inspirational speech.
She also added that she cannot say no to the cordial invitation of Mr. Ballasta, for CCDI-Sorsogon has, for 21 years, been one of the best partners of DepEd in the implementations of its projects and programs.
A Cheer Dance Competition was also held among the competing teams where Team (name) emerged as the champion, tramping the other four teams with their cheery cheer dance performance. Likewise, each team was also represented by a pair of muse and escort.
The week-long celebration, however, also included other set of activities such as Software Exhibit and Capstone Gallery, Kanam Sorsoganon (Laro ng Lahi), Tribute Party and Recognition Night, CCDI Got Talent, Animation Competition, and CCDI Job Fair and Alumni Fellowship Night which continued until February 17 respectively.
The celebration’s main objective was to boost the CCDIans’ untapped capabilities and powers in various fields through the competition among the participating teams.
